But this wasn’t the last time we saw him!  6 months rolled around and Ace was back in the studio!

Ali and Aaron opted to visit us an additional time in November for some family portraits!

And then this week, Ace visits us once more to celebrate his 1st birthday!  We had so much fun with him in the studio!!! And Ace sure enjoyed his cake!!!  We want to wish him a Happy Birthday! And we also want to say thanks to Ali and Aaron Brooks for being wonderful clients that have become part of the Jay’s Family!!!!!

We photographed the engaged couple in downtown Jonesboro, AR for a fun filled afternoon.  As you can see in these pictures, they were such a cute engaged couple!

We then took Katlyn outside in the cold a couple months later to photograph her bridal session!  Katlyn was such a good sport and so much fun!

And then today was their big day!!!  Everything was beautiful, but nothing outdid the Bride and Groom!!  They are such a lovely couple!

I want to say thanks to both of them for this opportunity!  We pray  God’s blessing upon them as they begin this journey called marriage! Congratulations guys!!!

Rosemary Claus-Gray is a fiber artist inspired by the lines, shapes and color found in nature. She creates in a minimalist and abstract style. Drawn to the work of artists who are painters, she often thinks of her work as painting with fabric. She uses sheer and translucent fabrics to merge one value with another, resulting in very subtle color shifts. She uses hand and machine stitching as a mark-making tool, giving definition to positive and negative shapes, adding texture and the illusion of depth.

Retired from work as a clinical social worker, she is now a full-time studio artist. Her art is an expression of her faith, joy of life, and inner peace that brings balance to her life.

We began photographing her while she was still in mommy’s tummy! Then after she was born we got her in the studio just a few days old!

Before we knew it, she was 3 months old!!! And she was such a princess, but a pouty princess!!!When she was six months old, we went to the river!  We played in the sun and sand on Current River!  So, turning a year old, we were bound to have fun in the studio again!  We want to thank Rethalee and Brody for allowing us this opportunity for over a year now!!!!  We look forward to photographing Natalee and the rest of the family in the future!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

Tonight is our church Valentine’s Banquet, so I decided this morning to make a treat I seen on Pinterest!  Here is what you will need.

• 1-bag of Pretzel Squares or Mini Pretzel Twist (our Walmart didn’t have the squares)
• 1-11oz. bag of Hershey’s Hugs (Kisses will work, but not as well)
• 1-bag of Plain M&M’s (I got the pretty valentine colored ones!)
• Cookie Sheet
• Parchment or Waxed paper
• Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°  And place your pretzels on your cookie sheet covered with Parchment paper. My cookie sheet held 70 mini twist!Now, to the most time consuming part…unwrapping the hugs!  This is where a second person would really speed up the prep time!  The first thing I had to do was eat one hug, only to test for the proper taste you know!!  So then I unwrapped and placed the hugs onto the pretzels.  However the bag only had 69 Hugs in it, and I ate one, so now I am only left with 68 treats! So now that I have all 68 hugs properly placed on my pretzels, pop them in the oven for 4-5 minutes.  You want them kinda glossy looking but not melting, just soft.  Now you should open your bag of Plain M&M’s and pour you enough in a bowl.   Be sure and don’t leave your treats in the oven too long, you don’t want them melting and running all over your cookie sheet.  Pull them out of the oven, and let set for about 1 minute.  Then take you an M&M and press into the center.  These are really soft, so there is not much pressing needed!  Now the only thing left to do is let these cool!  If you have room, put them in your refrigerator for about 30 minutes, if not they will cool at room temperature, it will just take longer.  I cheated and stuck them in my freezer for about 2 minutes ( I had to sample a finished product!)  Now I only have 67 left!!

Go ahead try it!  And Enjoy them!!!

We had the privileged of meeting and photographing a new client tonight!  Yes, I know it’s hard to tell this was her first time in our studio.  Miss Karlee was a doll for us!  You pair adorable Karlee with the super cute outfit mom brought…and we have a winner!  Thank you so much Tausha for giving us this opportunity!  We look forward to several more sessions with Karlee! And the rest of the family as well!

While driving past Walmart parking lot today I seen this truck and trailer.Ok…nothing special, but colorful and I have never seen a trailer like this that I can remember!  But what it really done was got me thinking about candy!  This could be due to the diet I am on, however it got my brain rolling.  Just how cheap do you remember getting candy for?

I can remember getting candy quite frequently for .05  I used to love picking out Nickel candy at Leonard’s grocery store before school!  Not only Super Bubble, but Bit-O-Honey, Jolly Ranchers, and more.  The joy was being able to fill a sack for $1 or $2.

But now I must confess my age…I am 31 and I actually remember getting candy for .01  Yes, one penny!  I can remember going to see my Grandparents in Fairdealing, MO and there was a small store there that sold candy for a penny.  I can remember all of the Tootsie Rolls, and not just the regular kind, even all of the flavors!   Pixie sticks, Peanut Butter Bars, you know the kind with the black stripes on the plastic wrapper. So many different kinds to choose from!  That was so much fun!

I visited that same store last week.  I picked up a bottle of water, a pack of juicy fruit, and I looked around to see if there was any penny candy.  SHOCKER: There wasn’t.  Not even for a nickel, or a dime! Al you see now are packs of gum, and bags of candy.  Gone are the days of endless time deciding on how many different kinds of candy you can get in that sack.  And get it all for $1

So think back to what you remember getting, and be sure and tell your kids!  If it was .10, .05, or even a PENNY, tell them about it.  It’s worth sharing!
